A 50% refund will be provided for direct bookings canceled at least 30 days prior to the arrival date.

Direct bookings canceled more than 45 days prior to the arrival date will be provided a full refund.

All direct bookings canceled with less than 30 days prior to the arrival date no refund will be provided, Hale Akua will retain the full booking amount.

Select rooms have air conditioning. If your room does not have a kitchen, you have access to either a mini fridge in your room or refrigerator in the vicinity.

All guests have access to our 60–foot salt water pool, hot tub, dry infrared sauna, and our Community kitchen (including the necessary kitchen utensils).

No, we do not have a working restaurant or chef on property. Guests have access to a community kitchen for cooking meals during their stay. We recommend picking up groceries before arriving. MANA FOODS and SAFEWAY are a couple of options for groceries.

The solar electric system at Hale Akua currently consists of 200 solar panels, 12 inverters and 24 solar batteries. Our founder Lori Grace has invested in this system to prevent unnecessary contribution to climate change. This solar electric system will add another two days of electricity, provided there has been an adequate amount of sunlight charge before an electrical outage. We also have 10 Eco-Flow batteries (3kw electricity per room) which can add two to three days of electricity if needed. Learning to live on limited electricity is a wonderful and necessary education for our current climate situation. We would like for all our guests to learn to work together with our staff in these situations.

Large hotels here on Maui that experience an electrical failure do not provide backup power, nor do they offer refunds. As we do not feel responsible for Hawaiian Electric’s failures, there will be an opportunity for education rather than a refund if we have an outage, and our staff will assist you the best they can.
