Hiking Trails

Maui has some absolutely fantastic trails and hiking on Maui is a great outdoor activity to do with your friends and family ~ hikers surely won’t be disappointed. The best part is that there is a hiking trail for all levels!

Pipiwai Trail

Starting from Kipahulu Campgrounds, this 3.8-mile round-trip trail takes about 2 hrs to complete. The highlights are a bamboo forest & 400 ft Waimoku falls.

Kahakapao Loop Trail

Situated in the heart of Makawao forest reserve, this 6.6-mile loop trail take an average of 3 hours to complete. The loop weaves through tall eucalyptus, ash and pines.

Waihe'e Ridge Trail

Located in the West Maui Mountains, the 5-mile out-and-back trail is one of the most scenic treks that ascends 1,500 ft. through a lush forest of kukui, guava, ohia, and ferns.

Keonehe'ehe'e Trail (Sliding Sands)

Commencing from the summit of Haleakala volcano, the trail provides premium access into the eroded crater. A challenging 11 mile point-to-point hike takes about 5-7 hours.

Hoapili Trail

A 3.6 mile out-and-back trail has a bit of everything. Rocky & uneven lava fields make the hike challenging alongside the coastline views & the Hawaiian burial sites.

Nakalele Blowhole Trail

A moderately challenging 1-2 mile route takes about 1 hr to complete. Famous for its blowhole, which produces powerful geyser-like water spouts when waves crash.

Paia Town

An eccentric & laidback northshore surf town, Paia is a popular business district with chicclothing boutiques and great restaurants.

Makawao Historical Town

Also known as Cowboy town, Makawao has an eclectic diversity of posh boutiques, art galleries, sophisticated eateries and a famous bakery.

Upcountry Farmers Market

Operating for over 40 years, Kula farmers market is the biggest in Maui. From fresh produce & hot foods to jewelery & essential oils, you will find a bit of everyhting.
