Bamboo Room

Our budget Maui accommodation, the Bamboo Room is located on the second level of the Office Building, with views of the trees and lusciously landscaped grounds. New bamboo floors emphasize the glowing natural light in the room. A full bathroom is located just outside the room and is shared with the guests in the Sunrise Room across the hall. Guests in the Bamboo Room enjoy close proximity to the Yoga room, main office, and laundry facilities, while also being centrally located on the property. A great room with versatility for its use, this room contains two twin size beds that can also be made up into one king size bed, depending on our guests’ needs. The Bamboo room is also air conditioned and receives lots of natural light, but has curtains for those days when you prefer to sleep in. It also has a coffee and tea service. Bamboo room guests enjoy access to all Hale Akua Garden Farm amenities including our sixty-foot saltwater swimming pool, large hot tub, sauna, large group kitchen, and yoga room when  yoga and meditation retreats are not in progress.

Because we are also a certified organic farm, an interactive, in-person course in regenerative agriculture and closed-loop farming is offered to all visiting students. We also provide classes in yoga, hula, communication training, and Lomi Lomi massage. Our massage team includes three highly trained Lomi Lomi practitioners and one instructor who is certified to teach individuals how to give Lomi Lomi massage to their partner. Learning opportunities are available throughout the property and at the office. In addition, guests can access extended courses in closed-loop farming via QR codes on their phones. These include in-depth modules on black soldier flies, aquaponics, and how aquaponics supports the health of the ocean around Maui by reducing demand for ocean fish—species that are also essential food sources for whales, dolphins, sea turtles, reef fish, and seabirds. Another QR-based course explores high-protein and anti-cancer foods from Oceania, rooted in traditional cultural practices. For those who prefer not to read on their phones, printed copies of all courses are available at the office.
